We Are The Jewels That God Loves So Much!

Treasure of Clay
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4: 7

You may look at me and see just an ordinary person, rather petite, auburn hair, blue eyes, and small frame.

but I am also fearfully and wonderfully made by my Maker. My Creator. My own personal designer.
I am an original. There is no one else just like me.

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before

you were born, I separated you for Myself. I have

appointed you to be a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah
 1:5

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, Plans for your welfare, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Malachi 3:17. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of
hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that .

We are very precious in the sight of our Maker, God of all creation. We are His Jewels!

Our Time is valuable.....spend it wisely. Our time is like our money-we can spend it foolishly and have nothing to show for it, OR we can spend it wisely, making the most of every moment for His Kingdom, for our own treasures in heaven where eternity is infinite.

Negative "Friends"

Sometimes we become friends with those who are a negative influence on our character building. We begin to hang out with a person whose values differ from ours. Maybe we can help them;
show them the truth, sometimes we can, sometimes we can not. It's crucial, however, never to forget that influence goes both ways. At times we can be under someone else's influence far more than we are influencing that person.
Most of the time, we don't even seem to be aware that we are being negatively influenced! We just sort of adopt their ways of thinking, and as we begin to think like them, we begin to act like them, talk like them, do what they do and so on. THINK for yourself! Be what GOD intended you to be, don't become a replica of others!
If you, as a young person, find yourself being influenced by anyone who is not serving God....stop, THINK, pray, and ask God to help you become strong in thinking for yourself, be your own person, develop your own character that is pleasing to God.
You will find more joy and peace than you ever could in being a copy of someone else!
The One we are created to be like is Jesus Christ......no other!
God BLESS you in your journey to becoming more like JESUS, the One Whose character is the PERFECT model!

II Corinthians 5:1

  1. In II Corinthians 5:1 we read about our earthly dwelling....our body.....clay....a temporary tent or home. A place where our mind, spirit, soul 'lives' until the day of judgment.
  2. Then, when the trumpet sounds and we are called HOME to be with our Father in all eternity, we will leave this temporary dwelling. We will be like Him, glorified in both body and soul. What a day that will be!
  3. no more tears-
  4. no more fears.
  5. Joy unspeakable and full of glory. I'm watching. I'm listening!
  6.
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Building Character That Is Strong and Enduring

character:
traits that combine to make up the total of one's personality.
.Integrity
. Honesty
 Loyalty
. Faithfulness
.Right Thinking

How, where, and when does a "Good Character" develop?

The home is most likely the first place where the building block foundations of great character is developed.
The Bible tells us that to 'spare the rod' will spoil the child. What, exactly does this mean?

The 'rod' of the Bible was used to gently guide and  prod one in the right direction. To admonish in the Lord, in( Ephesians 6:4) is quoted as the way to 'bring up a child in the Way he should go' as quoted in Proverbs 22:6.

How then should we teach our children how to build CHARACTER?

First, we must show them good Character traits in our own personal life, walk with God, and be true to our faith.

We teach them, by our own example....we show by our actions, not by words alone, we must be 'doers of the Word and not hearers only' (James 1:22).

We teach them that WE must build our own Character by reading, studying, and applying God's Word in our lives.

We teach them that it is OUR OWN responsibility to ADD all these things to our way of living:
The Fruits of the Spirit:

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.

We further build Character by Honesty, Forgiveness, Obedience to those in authority, Respect for one another, Honor, Loyalty, Generosity, and Hard Work, Discipline, and of course, SELF-DISCIPLINE!

God will not build your good Character FOR you, but He has certainly given you all the tools you need to build your own Character!

God does not FORCE anything upon us. We must learn to seek Him, seek wisdom, seek to do His will, and ask Him for strength, to intervene for us, and He will see that all things work together for good, for those who love God. (Romans 8:28)

We must learn to think good, lovely, and true thoughts. To have FAITH and it WILL be done according to our faith......as Jesus said, "be it according to your faith!" (Matthew 8:25 and 9:29)

Start your own CHARACTER-BUILDING TODAY!

Don't wait until someone else forces your personality to go the way of chance.... (Satan goes about like a ROARING lion, seeking whom he may DEVOUR! I Peter 5:8......if we don't develop our Character....he certainly will!) We are given a life of CHOICES......Choose GOOD........Choose Blessings!

Choose to Obey God.

God says: "I set before you this day, LIFE and DEATH, Blessings or Cursings.....CHOOSE LIFE! (Deuteronomy 30:19)

"As a man thinks, so he is, or so he becomes!" (King Solomon)

Think Good for Clean Overflow!

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45

Holy Spirit

What would be different about our Christian walk if the Holy Spirit wasn't inside us?

A question asked in today's Lifeway devotional (May 8, 2012)

I truly do NOT want to imagine my life without the Holy Spirit!

I REMEMBER my life without the Holy Spirit! Therefore, I

NEVER would want to walk through this life with all its pain,

sorrow, temptations, regrets, worldy cares, trials, heartaches,

worries, fears, sin, and all manner of destructive forces,

pounding at me, day after day- never-ending assaults of

the EVIL one, Satan, the accuser of the bretheren, wiley and

cunning, fighting in an unseen battle for my LIFE and my

SOUL!

Thank You, Father God, Thank You, Jesus, for YOUR HOLY

SPIRIT!

The One Who leads me, fills me, guides me, walks with me,

comforts me, intercedes for me, stands with me through

any attack that the thrower of those firey darts may toss

my way!

Life without YOU is death and eternal damnation!

Thank You for abiding in me, and I in You, Lord.

I try not to worry about life too much because I read the last page of THE book and it all turns out all right.

                                                                                                           Billy Graham
I will THINK Positively.
I will THINK on what is good, lovely, pure, and true.
I will NOT allow junk into my mind and heart.
I will cherish one of the greatest gifts from God- the freedom to CHOOSE.
I choose Life. I choose Obedience.
I choose to Love and Forgive.
I choose Faith.
I choose Hope.
I choose right decisions.
I choose HIS will.
I choose to surrender all to One Who knows me best, all my desires, my needs, and my dreams.
I have decided to follow Jesus.
Faith is a choice.
Love is a choice.
Forgiveness is a choice.
Winning is a choice.
