Words To Think About!

The devil shapes himself to the fashions of all men. If he meets with a proud man, or a prodigal man, then he makes himself a flatterer.

If a covetous man, then he comes with a reward in his hand. He has an apple for Eve, a grape for Noah, a change of raiment for Gehazi, a money bag for Judas. He can dish out his meat for all palates; he has a latch to fit every shoe. He has something to please all conditions.

William Jenkyn (Paraphrased by Sue)
What is your particular desire?
How do you discern if that desire is placed there by the Lord as in Psalm 37:4-5?
How can you tell if it's from Satan?
I KNOW mine!
Although I preach n teach God FIRST, I realize that I have a very difficult time when it comes to my children and grandsons. I am constantly praying for, thinking about, wanting the best for-even to the point that I've most often made it into idolatry!
This is what I need prayer for-most of all!
Please comment on what the devil uses as an 'enticement' to you that keeps your walk and your words from being what it should be for the Kingdom?
I Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:

Daily Words

It's amazing how many tries one must go through to name a new blog! I finally managed though. My two other blogs are:

www.victorygardenofprayer.blogpsot.com

www.fishermensline.blogspot.com

and now:

www.TheWordIsNigh.blogspot.com

Hurray! I hope this will be a lot of fun-with words-because words are so powerful....just imagine God spoke the Word and the creation came into existence!
How we speak-not just our words, but our tone is so important.
Often I believe that tone is far more important than our spoken words- we really do have the power of life or death in the tongue- yet the tone of each word can be as ointment to a broken heart or a sword to shred it even farther apart.
I have such a heart for children and young to mid teens...well, I suppose one could say I just have a heart for people in general and when I hear a tone that is insulting, degrading, or in any way disrespectful I cringe at the sound.
This isn't to say I perfectly follow my own heart, but my words are chosen wisely-especially to the very young and those who are just muddling through to find their way.....and it's difficult enough to be a teen.
I always try to remember I have BEEN there-but they've never been where we older folks are!
